L-HPC (Low Substituted Hydroxypropyl Cellulose) is a non-ionic, partially substituted cellulose ether derived from natural plant fibers. With low hydroxypropyl substitution, L-HPC is water-insoluble but capable of swelling in water, making it an ideal functional additive in pharmaceuticals, food, and cosmetics. It is widely recognized for its safety, stability, and multifunctional performance.

Application
This product is primarily used as a tablet disintegrant and binder. Due to its high surface area and porosity, the addition of this product can improve tablet hardness and the smoothness of their appearance. It also accelerates moisture absorption, facilitating tablet disintegration and enhancing drug dissolution rate, thereby improving bioavailability. Additionally, its disintegration properties remain unaffected during long-term storage. When used as a tablet binder in wet granulation, the typical dosage ranges from 2% to 20%. As a disintegrant, it can be added externally or internally, with a typical dosage of 2% to 5%.
